*** UPDATE: 07/11/24 – IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ! ***
Jimmy is now permanently bed-bound and in the palliative care phase of his Stage 4 prostate cancer. Due to a loss of appetite since having a nephrostomy tube fitted in the summer, his resulting loss of appetite due to a combination of factors, has resulted in him losing substantial weight.
Subsequently, he is now too weak and frail to have any further cancer treatments.
Kind regards,
Cem (‘Jem’)

*** UPDATE: 24/09/24 – IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ! ***
Jimmy has now returned to the UK after an increasingly challenging stint in Cyprus for treatment for his Stage 4 (palliative) prostate cancer. Due to the repercussions of his failed kidney and subsequent emergency dialysis back in the summer, his health has deteriorated greatly; namely, an alarming loss of weight that has made him very frail and weak.
He has now essentially been rendered bed-bound.
Under the circumstances, it is not a realistic proposition for us to continue with the business. Even if Jimmy is able to seek alternative treatment here or elsewhere and regain some strength, he will not be able to return to work.
During this challenging period and even before it, we have been storing customers’ batteries and other accessories. We cannot continue to do this as we work from Jimmy’s home, and the entire top floor (loft conversion) has been turned into a make-shift warehouse!
Please note that over the coming days and weeks, I will begin disposing of customer batteries that have been with us for many months, and in some cases, even years! If you wish to have your battery returned to you, please contact me via the regular email address – info@ebikebatteries.co.uk – so we can arrange a return date.
Due to Jimmy’s health, we are not able to fulfil any warranty repairs – please accept our apologies for this. Again, as per above we are seeking to return/dispose of these.
I appreciate your patience and understanding in this regard, and thank all our customers – old and new – for their business.
Alas, all good things must come to an end…
Kind regards,
Cem (‘Jem’)
Company Director

Sadly, the latest news regarding Jimmy is not positive. The recent revelation about his kidneys appears to be more serious than I initially understood, and now my family are insisting I head out to Cyprus as Jimmy’s condition appears to be worsening by the day.
He is no longer eating (can’t keep his food down) and generally his morale has hit rock-bottom.
While of course one never wants to lose hope even during the most trying of times, one has to also be realistic; Jimmy is Stage 4 and at the palliative stage, and has been for a while now.
As difficult as it is for my family and I to accept, Jimmy may be living on borrowed time.
At this stage I am aware that some customers are expecting refunds for monies paid in advance for new builds – I ask that you remain patient during this challenging time. These will of course be dealt with in due course, but at this stage we need to see how the situation progresses over the coming weeks, maybe months.
I thank you once again for your understanding at this extremely difficult time. Under the circumstances, I will also be suspending our phone number and will only deal with enquiries via email.
Kind regards,
Cem (‘Jem’)
Company Director

*** UPDATE 28.06.24 ***
Since the last update it has transpired that Jimmy’s kidneys are failing (not related to the cancer) due to the different medicines and treatments he’s been taking and receiving over the last year or so (and possibly also as a result of poor diet). He is currently on a dialysis machine and will remain so for at least the immediate future.
Obviously this is a challenging time for our family – it is a fluid situation and I am unable to commit to any kind of time frame regarding Jimmy’s return to the UK.
For those waiting on new builds/repairs, I very much appreciate your long-standing patience and understanding. If needs be, and depending on how things pan out over the coming weeks/months, we will of course look into reimbursing you for monies paid in advance for new builds.
Kind regards,
Cem (‘Jem’)
Company Director
*** UPDATE 06.06.24 ***
Unfortunately Jimmy’s second Lutetium 177 treatment has been deferred until the end of the month (June). Due to the serum being nuclear-based, it has a very specific and short lifespan and unfortunately on this occasion the serum has not been received in time (sent from Turkiye to Cyprus).
As it stands, all repair/re-cell/new build work is continued to be deferred until Jimmy’s return.

*** UPDATE 12.05/24 ***
For those awaiting news of Jimmy’s return to the UK, please note that it is looking increasingly likely that having had his first Lutetium 177 treatment for his Stage 4 prostate cancer in late April, he will extend his stay in Cyprus until at least the first/second week of June. The reasons for this are as follows – the Professor overseeing his treatment from Istanbul is planning to visit the island and thus can meet Jimmy in person, and his second treatment is scheduled for the 6th June.
As such, we are regrettably still not in a position to take on any new work – be it new builds, re-cells or repairs.
We apologise for any inconvenience and greatly appreciate your ongoing patience, understanding and support.
Kind regards,
Cem (‘Jem’)
Company Director

*** 05.04.24 ***
I am away for Easter break from 04.04.24 to 19.04.24 so please do NOT place any orders as these will not be dispatched until after my return. Any orders placed during this period cannot be fulfilled.
Thank you.

*** UPDATE AS 18/03/24 ***
Unfortunately Jimmy’s hormone treatment has proven unsuccessful and as such he has decided to step out of the NHS system (he does not want to undergo chemotherapy treatment). Subject to a successful PET MRI scan, he will begin targeted Lutetium 177 treatment in Cyprus – where he is currently and will remain for the next two to four weeks.
Thank you once again for your patience and understanding.
Kind regards,
Cem (‘Jem’)
Company Director

Further to the recent news of Jimmy’s downturn in health, I am happy to report that we are now open again and accepting new orders! Please note however that Jimmy’s treatment and recovery are on-going; he is in for the long haul and his recovery is not on a completely linear trajectory – some days are better than others.
As such, and as Company Director, I will be prioritising Jimmy’s health and will be more selective about the work I take on. Customers may also have to prepare for the fact that they will need to wait longer than preferred for work to be completed.
I appreciate your patience and understanding in this regard.
